At Child Care Answers, we want to honor everything that makes you, well, you! As the leader of Child Care Answers, I’ve seen first-hand how important it is to instill a welcoming culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. This not only applies to our board and staff, but we work to ensure that it radiates to all those we serve.
Whether you are an early childhood professional, parent/caregiver, or a community organization or employer representative, we welcome you. Read on to see how we work to embody our new welcome statement every day.
We welcome all, those of all races, cultures, and nationalities, regardless of immigration status or language spoken.
We support families whose first language is not English, including those who speak Spanish, Haitian Creole, Burmese, Chin, Tigrinya, and more! When the war in Ukraine escalated, we worked with community partners to help Ukrainian families find child care and access resources. All families who need support finding and choosing care can rely on us to advocate for their needs and provide resources.
We welcome all, those of all sexual orientations, gender identities, gender expressions, or family structure; those of all ages and socio-economic circumstances.
The resources we have provided families and child care professionals over the years have encouraged age-appropriate discussions with children about LGBTQIA+ topics and how family structures can look different for each child. We are active in the community and partner with local community organizations on these topics and those needing additional financial and social supports.
We welcome all, those of all abilities, including disabilities and medical or mental health conditions.
We help families who have children with disabilities learn how to navigate finding inclusive child care and how to advocate for their child in child care settings. To support families, we partner with local disability advocates and organizations. A parent with a child with Down Syndrome shared, “It means the world to have someone who is supporting me as I navigate this situation. Your support, guidance, and kind words mean so much to me and my family.” During the pandemic, we began focusing on referring families and child care professionals to resources for self-care and mental health, which continues today though partnerships with mental health organizations.
We grow with you as your go-to resource for all things child care in central Indiana. Our mission is to improve the well-being, care, and education for the whole child.
Our services are free and accessible to all.
If you live or work in Hamilton, Hendricks, or Marion Counties, we can help! If you are a Hoosier living outside our service area, we can also connect you to the best person to support you within the Child Care Resource & Referral Network.
